Al-Fatihah!

At an annual birthday thanksgiving gathering, Ningsih, the eldest daughter in a religious family, attempts to take control of the noisy atmosphere by loudly reciting “Al-Fatihah” to prompt the prayer ritual that had been overlooked. Her action creates an awkward atmosphere and frightens her nephew. As a result, the food she usually prepares is avoided by her family. Under the pretext of preserving tradition, Ningsih forces her nephew to eat her cooking, until an unexpected incident once again changes the atmosphere of the gathering.
